Disconnecting your Instagram account from Facebook improves your privacy and allows you to manage your accounts independently across platforms. However, some of the convenience and features of syncing your accounts, such as cross-sharing and login options, will be lost.

To keep your personal profile separate from your Facebook business page, you can convert your personal profile into a business account, which allows you to manage your business page independently of your personal profile. Here’s how to go about it:

  • Access Your Personal Facebook Account: Log in to Facebook with the personal account that is currently associated with your business page.
  • Access the Business Settings: To access the dropdown menu, click the small down arrow in the upper-right corner of the Facebook interface. Choose “Settings & Privacy” and then “Settings.”
  • Convert your personal account to a business account: Go to the left sidebar and select “Business Integration. “In the section titled “Connect or Disconnect Your Personal Account,” you can click “Get Started.” To convert your personal account to a business account, follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Choose Your Business Page: You’ll be prompted to choose which business page you want to link to your business account. Select your business’s page from the list.
  • Complete the Conversion: To complete the conversion, follow the instructions. You may be required to provide additional information about your business.
  • Review and Confirm: Review your changes and, if everything appears to be in order, confirm the conversion.

When you finish these steps, your personal profile will be converted into a business account and separate from your business page. You can manage your business page, access Page Insights, run ads, and interact with your audience without linking these activities to your personal profile.

Remember that even though your personal profile is separate from your business page, you can still access your personal contacts, messages, and groups on Facebook. However, your personal activity on the platform will no longer be linked to the activity of your business page.
